Morning Chaps...

Customer of mine has had a new cylinder recently installed (6 months ago.)

All electric heating/ economy 7.

Has 2 immersions : off peak at bottom & boost at top

They've never used boost. Eco7 permanently turned on.

No hot water the other day so advised to use boost immersion until I made my visit.

Upon inspection it turned out both thermal cut outs had popped out - reset and all good again.

Seemed a bit strange for both to go and on such new units?

Any ideas please? Was thinking maybe the boost one was never originally set and wasn't until now that it was discovered.

Just to confirm, tested both circuits, elements and all connections - fine.

Thanks for your help,

Sy

Sounds like the bottem thermostat isnt working correctly, if the water is getting to hot causing the limit stat to go in the bottem immersion then the water tempreture of the top immersion will be even higher, hence that limit stat might of gone first even though you it wasnt being used. Replace the bottem thermostat check tempretures arnt set to high, end of problem! hopefully.
