Afternoon fellas

Being January and not as busy as normal I'm just thinking of idea 's to push things on and get more work, I've been non stop for the last few years but with more competition springing up I'm keen to keep busy .

A question for the NICEIC Approved guys really, Is it worth the switch?, Does it actually bring you more work being an NICEIC approved contractor
As opposed to a DI or Napit Approved , I'm currently Napit full scope

Cheers

Mike

Same here. A commercial customer of mine asked me to change from DI to Approved recently. Just waiting for the pre assessment now :fuk2:

Personally and from an employers point of view i'd go for NAPIT but unfortunately there is little doubt NICEIC is more recognised.

If your looking for commercial opportunities then it's only the NICEIC, the rest are a waste of time, you might as well be a member of Costco, the truth is right or wrong, the decision makers only tend to recognise the NIC

I'd love to be an NICEIC engineer, what a job, 2 inspections a day and they get friday afternoons in the office, good salary and I bet they see some things LOL.

Cheers guys, I have noticed that all us Napit/Elecsa guys are firmly rooted in the Domestic scene most of the time, I've done the odd shop/hotel but there is only so much domestic work to go around.
When I talk to the NIC Approved guys they seem to be very busy with commercial installation & maintenance contracts .
Works both way I suppose, there is a certain company about 15 miles from me who started out as 3 guys 2 vans, they went NIC approved 2 years ago and now have 7 workers and 5 new vans and are lapping up all the commercial on my doorstep, fair do's to them.
On the other hand....one man band I knew worked his --- off to get the 6 jobs to go NIC approved but went under after a year and is now selling upvc again.
