I have the above 3.0 kVA generator to power a caravan and I am unsure about the earthing requirements. After reading the manual and the HSE guidance I am of the opinion that it is a floating earth and an external earth rod is not necessary. If anyone knows any different or has any advice, it would be much appreciated and most welcome.

Hi Josh, welcome to the forum.
If you look at page 11 of the manual you will see a section on Generator Use. It states "To prevent electrical shock from faulty appliances, the generator should be grounded. Connect a length of heavy wire between the generator's ground terminal and an external ground source."
Also on page 4 on the section Control Panel you will see a Grounding Terminal.
Hope this helps out a bit.
