I have always installed a dedicated 32a kitchen appliance ring circuit and fitted a grid module system comprising of 20amp DP swithes and 13amp fuse module holders. Each appliance is spurred from the dedicated 20a dp and FCU. I always plug the appliance on an unstitched 13a single socket rather than cutting the plug off the appliance. However is this necessary to have two fuses due to discrimination.
 
I would agree as they would not discriminate. I would say if you are using unswitched sockets, just have a DP isolator backing it up rather than a fuse and DP switch
