Hi all. I am struggling to find a suitable high-quality LED filament bulb for a new fitting. It appears difficult to find many > 2700k, and the couple I have tried so far have had significant buzz and flicker when dimmed (used with a Varilight V-pro dimmer).

Our requirements are:
  • E27 GLS or globe
  • Clear glass
  • Dimmable
  • Colour temperature between 3000-4000k (ideally closer to 3000)
  • Between 800-1200 lumens
  • Little or no buzz

Any recommendations you may have would be most appreciated.

Best
Chris

Have you tried Philips? There are a range of wattages giving the lumen range you require (and they are clear!). However they are warm white (2700k), and I have seen a mild version of the flickering you mention with one.

I thought the whole idea of this particular style of bulb was to mimic the original Edison (carbonised bamboo, later tungsten filament) bulbs that gave off an atmospheric yellow light. I have some pre-LED filament bulbs like this, which are even tinted to make them deliberately 'warmer'.
If you really need 4000k colour temperature, I think you might need to move away from the 'pretend filament' classic style, unless one of our helpful colleagues knows of a brand that is whiter.
