Morning,

Just wondering if anyone knows how to wire Lutron lighting in flats, I have four lighting circuits, four switches and a DB cupboard where I can install any controls I might need, I'm hoping I wire a lighting circuit to a control box in the cupboard and then the switched/dimmable circuits are distributed from there, with the switches on cat 5's back to the control unit from there locations. Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

TBH, Lutron sounds like an expensive solution for that! How committed to it are you?

Only ever first fixed Lutron and haven't worked on any for a couple of years but was always led to believe that the course for it was about £5k and wasn't the easiest stuff to work with.

Indeed. I can suggest a very good solution for a decimal place less than that!

perm l+n to all fittings and 2core twisted pair.

that is all they needed when we did them.

Look into the Grafik Eye QS range. They are not horrifically expensive as some on here would have you believe, no names mentioned Rockingit ;-)

Ultimately Lutron is the best product on the market, but as rightly said, there are cheaper solutions that will work just fine.

If your are definitely using Lutron, do not use cat5. Use either the cable they supply or the Belden (1502r) equivalent which will be a third of the price. If you use cat5 and the product becomes defective, Lutron will not cover it in their guarantee.
