Hi, I am a homeowner looking to convert my existing garage to a room, and so need to move just the existing electric meter from the garage to the outside in a flush box. The NGo will move the cable and the meter and the isolator to the meter box. I've read that I then need to connect an 80A DP isolator inside the box and connect the meter tails to this, as the tails will be >3m. actual length is 8meters. my question now is do i need to install an additional DP isolator before the consumer unit thats inside the house? Some folk say it's needed, others say it's not. (all practising electricians) I'd like to understand this better, if you can help. Note, im not doing this work myself, I want to get an understanding of what's needed so I can ensure it's being done properly.

The consumer unit already has a main switch, there is no need to add another one next to it.
it should be a fused isolator fitted next to the meter and it may be that swa cable is required between the isolator and the consumer unit, depending on how the cable is going to be run.
