hi guys quick question (as always lol) do u need to hav any certificates 2 b able to PAT test? and same with Periodics? im gettin in the NICEIC within couple months aswel

The keyword here is "competant". If you feel your competant to carry out the testing, then theres nothing stopping you.


The problem arises when the competancy of the tester is called into question i.e if something goes wrong or if an isurance company is involved in a claim for damages. One way of proving competance is holding the relevant qualies i.e 2391 and 2377.
 
You will find a lot of places will only accept a periodic from a contractor registered with one of the bodies, but as your going NIC soon this shouldn't be a problem. I think it costs to have periodic inspection reporting added to your domestic installer status (if thats what you're going for).
