I am just going to get the regs out shortly, however anyone done any work on petrol station pump supplies, as part of a refurb in commercial premises I will be fitting a new CU for the shop and forecourt a heads up on anything likely to be a pain would be great cheers

I have just had a look through the regs I cant find any mention of petrol stations, I could have sworn there was a section on it after marinas etc, any one knows where it is, cheers all, also when doing the I&T is ther differant IR requirements ?? and where is the firemans switch in the circuit?? anyone ??

You need to consult locally about this, once you have read BGB Appx 2, halfway down page 293, item number 5.

I agree with what you are saying. I know, you know and we all know that this is just a shop, just like any other shop, and it unlikely to throw up any problems, but. I would still have a gander at the rules and regs surrounding this, as even though it is just a shop, it is still in an environment that stores combustible material, by your own admission it is a new environment for yourself, so make sure you dot the i's and cross the t's for your own piece of mind.

Yep I was down there today for diesel and it is amazing what you see when you actually look LPG cylinders and fire wood outside the door,
usuall shelves filled with oils and brake fluid, yep definately worth some thought, I did open the book honest Biff

As far as I'm aware, the shop is considered separate from the forecourt, and BS7671 applies.

Your most likely correct Spin, I was thinking that the propritor of the business is responsible for what he puts where under the term of H&S etc

You need the APEA Blue book for the Regs on forecourts.
The installation comes under the control of the L.A Petroleum Officer.

The kiosk is outside of any controlled zone, normal regs apply except for the installation of E.M stop circuit for the pumps.
This is normally a contactor isolating all supplies to the pumps reset only from the kiosk and has Stops on the cashiers desks, at the tank fill point and the Firemans switch is in this circuit.
The Firemans Pump control switch is on the forecourt so has very specific regs re siting and labelling.

Best advice, keep away from the pump supplies, but for the future keep an eye on how the pump supply install is done.
