I'm currently refitting a pv system which was removed while building work was carried out. I didn't remove the system myself so don't know how it was wired before. The issue I have is that the generation meter has terminations suitable for upto 25mm tails. The AC supply to this is in 4mm twin/earth. I can't wire the twin/earth straight into the meter as it will leave the large connections on the meter too exposed. Also, it will not be suitable to run tails from the meter into the AC isolator.
Can anyone help with suggestions as to how this is usually done please?

You could use trunking (50x50?) to protect the stripped Twin & Earth and again route the wires from the meter to the ac isolator in the trunking as well.

There are probably a few on here that have some pictures they could share as an example.

Yup, trunking, extended meter cover, surface/adaptable box butted up to the base of the meter - plenty of options.

Thanks guys, I had thought about trunking but thought there may be a neater way of doing things. All the AC/DC isolators have round conduit openings and square trunking looks a bit naff butted up to things. I wonder why they don't use meters with connections more suitable for pv installations...

Dependant on which meter it is, we may have stock of the extended terminal cover, if that's of any use?

Yes, that may well help! It may be, or is very similar to the Emlite ECA.

The little 1ph unit? Probably an L&G 5235/E110 variant if so. I'll check if we have one we can post to you if you PM me your contact details?

Yes it's just a 1ph unit. Pm'd you my details. Thanks :-)

.....or you could just terminate the T&E at the meter; very poorly with loads of copper core accessible to touch; and the bare cpc flapping about. Seen that a couple of times.
