Hello.
I'm just after some advise about gaining NICEIC Approved Contractor status.
I was made redundant last year after 12+ years with a firm and after nearly a year of agency and sub-contract work, and quite a few domestic jobs, i recently got my first commercial job. A mate at the firm i was made redundant from has contacted me to offer me a possibility of long term work doing maintenance upgrade schemes and minor works installations on commercial and light industrial sites. The stumbleing block is that i am required to be NICEIC Approved Contractor accredited to get on their preferred contractors list.
For the job i did, i issued a green sheet test certificate, and a spark i know has certificated the domestic jobs i have done.
I am very unsure of the rules with Part P, building regs and what defines a notifable job, hence what and how can i certify on domestic work that the NICEIC could asses, and what, if any, certificates i can issue??
The guy at the NICEIC didn't seem to helpful and i didn't want to sound stupid asking him how and what jobs i could certificate.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
Cheers
