Discuss Shower installed low in the UK Electrical Forum area at ElectriciansForums.net

Dont know how you can ever ensure that with a flexible shower hose other than trying to educating the users! and stick with my comments in post#15
The point being made here is that the water is intended to be in the same axis as the unit, ie side by side, not adjacent.

Arguably it's the riser rail that's in the wrong place.
If the riser rail was on the same wall as the unit it wouldn't be pointed right at the unit in normal use.
I have to say though that I have never yet seen an issue with water ingress into a mira sport even when installed like that.

I replaced a Mira shower unit a few weeks ago where the client had fitted a turbo power head which worked fine, but it had a stop valve at the head.

Ended up with the tank bursting, gushing water into the enclosure.

Digital mixers / Smart valves are the way to go, taking the unit out of zone 1 completely.

Last remote mounted shower I came across was mounted on a piece of chipboard in the well ventilated loft, above the 200mm of insulation, just waiting for a nice low temperature winter's night. Even the copper pipework to it was exposed.
I was only there for an EICR, although I did pass my thoughts onto the landlord.
