I was called to a static caravan where the owner complained of sparking on a double socket when switching. I checked it out and no loose connections or signs of burning so I fitted a replacement socket provided by the caravan manufacturer. I have just been called because the same thing is happening. The sockets are slimline and Im just wondering if its just the sparking of the switch the customer can see when its quite dark because the sockets are slimline. Anyone had any similar issues ?

yes i had a similar problem found out later the cliant was truning the socket of under load so when the switch opeand there was a flash but was fine if there was no load

is the customer old/ frail/ arthritic and possibly not pressing the switch hard/ quick enough which could cause the visible arching?
