Discuss String lights - conversion from 120v/60hz to 240v/50hz in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

the frequency should not matter. a simple site transformer will do the job.

Why, oh why do people buy 120V/60Hz appliances and equipment in the States to use in the UK where every man and his dog knows the supply voltage is 230/240V-50Hz!!!!

In this case it shouldn't make any difference, as it's just wiring and lamp holders, just change the lamps for the 230V variety and run off any 230/240V supply or a Tel stated in his post!! But it does make you wonder at times ...What!! lol!!!
