I have an older Crouse Hinds board with a 200A service. Due to recent rehab on the house, I found I have the need to install a sub panel. I installed a QO 125A panel, installed the PVC 1.5 inch conduit, and a 100A Siemens breaker in the Crouse Hinds. I then ran the 3 #2 wires to the box, wrappng the neutral wire in white tape, and installed the ground bars in the box, and yes, I know that the ground bar in the sub is not for the neutrals. So far so good. Here is the rub. I’m trying to find a Neutral bar lug for the Crouse Hinds. This bar is the type that has 2 different size holes, one large flanked by two smaller size through the length of the bar. None of the lug kits will fit. The type that has a screw through the bottom that attaches it to the bar has a screw that is too small for the large hole, and too big for the smaller holes. The other lug I tried has legs that are meant to slide into the wire holes then the screw tightens it to the ground bar. This doesn’t work as the holes are offset due to the difference in sizes and the lug plate is straight across,.

I am at the spot of thinking that I am going to have to undue all the neutral/grounds from the existing bar, replace it with a newer bar and a lug. Because I’m not a pro like you’uns, I want to assure you that this work will be done with the main disconnect off, of course. So my questions are twofold. First, do any of you know of a neutral bar lug kit that would fit the older style bar? No one at the various electrical specialty houses seemed to know of one. I am trying to not have to pull all the whites/bares if I can help it. If not, can I use any brand of neutral/ground bar given that Crouse Hinds no longer exists?

Thanks, folks. I apologize for the length of this, but I want to make sure I am being complete when asking for your expertise.

Normally what I do is drill and tap my own holes. You can go to Lowes or Home Depot or your local hardware and purchase self tapping drill bits and you can get a set that has 6/32-8/32-10/32 drill bits. It doesn’t cost much and then you can purchase any ground bar and make it work. I hope this helps.
