Hi guys,

Is it mandatory to have extraction in the kitchen and utility on a new extension? I need a quick answer, otherwise I`d look it up in Part F.

Cheers

They are required under Building Regs.

You may get away with not having an extract to the utility, it will possibly depend on whether you are having a sink or basin in there. I managed to argue out the need for one with Building Control in a utility that didn't have a sink/basin.

It's also required under building regs to notify when installing a new supply to an outbuilding along with circuits, but an unregistered guy on here a few days ago was told by his LBC to do the job and get someone else to fill out an EICR afterwards. All depends who your inspector is at the end of the day.
