what is the best location for extractor fan?

going to install an extractor fan in a shower room, the client wants to install it just over the shower, i normally install it above the toilet, is there any regs on this? or just install it anywhere you want?

Install it where you want, subject to the fan being appropriately IP rated for your chosen zone within the bathroom.
