Anyone know of any work in the north east went self employed and been really slow, so looking to work for the MAN again and earn a steady wage

Been on indeed and applied for a few but nothing as of yet got to apply for a few more tomorrow and most jobs these days want 2391 for rubbish money which i dont have and want

Try looking at some of the maintenance companies, it might be a fight to get in the door, but it's steady money..

Have done a bit maintainence before and found it sole destroying and tbh i dont want to get stuck in the rutt of doing that maybe it was just that company but not for me prefer pipe tray trunking data cables etc not replacing a damaged socket or working out why the hoovers not working BUT its still a job and i dont have one atm

I think you worked for the wrong company, When i decided to get out of construction many years ago I went into maintenance, day 1 I started to work with generators, water towers, chillers, DX units, chilled water systems, fire deluge systems, VESDA, FCU's, VAV's and a whole raft of other building systems...Yes you do lamp changing and other menial tasks, but you get that in normal electrical as well.

Now I run projects in critical environments, ensure they run 24/7 and get involved in IST testing and lots of other very interesting things..and at more than £75K a year it more than pays the bills!
