Reminds me of another DIY adaptation...missus asks me if the new chandelier could be "fixed proper..."....looks sturdy,centred and plumb....then she says "no,it's up here..."
....and there,on the bedroom floor,poking above the carpet,are two bits of M6 threaded bar,with nuts and penny washers...

Oh that reminds me we were renting above a shop and one day I caught my foot on something on the floor, felt around and found 2 sharp points poking through the floor boards and about 10mm from the carpet. Went downstairs to the shop and saw the new CCTV monitor screwed to the ceiling! Landlord just sent someone round with an angle grinder and smoothed them off.......and there,on the bedroom floor,poking above the carpet,are two bits of M6 threaded bar,with nuts and penny washers...
It's a pentagon house suite...OK, own up, what have you done with the fifth corner?
