Looked at this yesterday. Asked to quote for replacing 6 LV downlights with new main voltage. Customer said they seemed a little loose in the ceiling and on some of them, we get cool air coming into the room.

I wonder why;)

and then a nice bit of how not to rejoin the ligting circuit when you've taked out the ceiling rose:confused:

part pee has done well to stop all that sort of crap, ain't it?

They must of given up with the springs as there was a few of them thrown over the loft floor

lolol

Normally the case.... but don't they use no nails... or is that just the one's I've seen.. and refused to remove due to the damage to the ceiling

Its so easy to critisise other peoples work....I thought I was showing good initiative and my green credentials are intact due to reusing some old terminal blocks I found laying around.

Cant see any thing wrong with it, and part F goes on about ventilation etc.

Is that the original medieval bamboo conduit? How old is the house?

Personally I would prefer to have the neutrals connected in the back of the switch box than that arrangement in the last pic, although whoever 'installed' that lot has more than made up for the aesthetic loss by factoring in that lovely bit of red ribbon to hold the lights in place. I must say that's ever so pretty.

This is a very clever installation, obviously should a downlighter overheat and catch fire, it burns through the string, and lets the downlight drop away preventing a nasty roofspace fire :)
