like i said if your comfortable with ityeah ,and what about the insurance you got if the property burns down!
The third party was introduced to stop building inspectors getting overwhelmed. If each stage in inspected and is done correctly I see no problem with it but this is not the case here.sorry no third party for me.
Inspection is far more important than testing though - testing merely supplements inspection.if its a minor ish job and you are confident with your testing skills, smile and take the money
Yea but what about someone who has wired diagonally across the wall. I wouldn't be comfortable with it without seeing the wiring routes.if its a minor ish job and you are confident with your testing skills, smile and take the money
then dont do it,its about judgement, i did say if you can inspect allYea but what about someone who has wired diagonally across the wall. I wouldn't be comfortable with it without seeing the wiring routes.
Yes, but most of the CPS have not included third party as an option for their members. And of the one or two that do offer it have had a very low take up from their electricians. The third party was introduced to stop building inspectors getting overwhelmed. Third party still requires inspection at all stages does it not?Yes, but most of the CPS have not included third party as an option for their members. And of the one or two that do offer it have had a very low take up from their electricians.
With an eicr being unregulated and with some 'electricians' offering them for as little as £70 it is concerning that the LABC would deem a eicr acceptable in the above situation.
not sure they will deem it acceptable. I just told the guy to enquire as one of his options. £70, jees I charge a day for one and I find that a push to do a thorough job. With an eicr being unregulated and with some 'electricians' offering them for as little as £70 it is concerning that the LABC would deem a eicr acceptable in the above situation.
you will not get me out of bed for that, even with a cup of tea. With an eicr being unregulated and with some 'electricians' offering them for as little as £70 it is concerning that the LABC would deem a eicr acceptable in the above situation.
I guess they are correct with this to some extent though. Compliance with building regulations is the responsibility of the property owner, sadly not a lot of property owners are aware of that and they think it is the responsibility of the installers/trades/builders.
