You're looking at roughly £300 for eight of them (including VAT) but you'll make your money back within 5 years in energy saved compared to if you were using eight 50w halogens.
Eight LED downlights are going to cost you on average approx £12 per year to run compared to £76 per year for the eight halogens. Lets say you stay in your current house for another 30 years, keeping your halogens is going to cost you roughly £2,300 over that period compared to £660 for changing to and then running LED's, that's a total saving of £1640. Or another way of putting it is that if you change to LED's, after 30 years you get a free two week holiday for a family of four to some exotic island somewhere! A nice retirement present for anyone wouldn't you agree
