If most local authorties seem happy to except a PIR ( Electrical Installation Condition Report now) instead of a installation cert from the electrician that actually did the work and anyone whom is demeeded as competant can issue an PIR why jump through the hoops of being Part P accredited? Just supply a PIR for your own work!

I know this would bring up problems but in theory why not?
 
Because a PIR would be used when making a retrospective notification, something that is usually more expensive than pre-notificatin, which in itself is substantially more expensive than self certification.
 
I'm just a little tired of jumping through hoops and throwing money at Elecsa as I only work part time and it's an on-going costly process! Thank for the reply.
