hi.
need a bit of advice please.
this is whats been noted in a fire risk assessment for a block of flats iam working on.
FIRE DETECTION AND ALARM SYSTEMS RECOMENDATIONS
A mixed system,
grade a: ld2 coverage in the common areas heat detectors in each flat in lobby opening into escape route (interlinked)
grade d: ld3 coverage in each flat non interlinked smoke in lobby opening into escape route
-----------------------------------
correct me if am wrong but does this mean the grade d comes off the lighting circuit in the flats
and grade a is a seperate system from a panel in the comunal area?
if so can any one give me some info on panel types that are pretty easy to install as am not used to installaing fire alarms.
EMERGENCY LIGHTING RECOMENDATIONS
emergency lighting required if the route is long or complex or where there is no borrowed effective light.
can some one defineTthe word borrowed here please? the land lords insisting he doesnt need e,m as he has windows and a normal lighting system, ive explained that if the power goes under a fire or electrical fault at night what happens then! but hes not having it.
thanks guys...
