The site has 12 * 50W LED floodlights and they are controlled by 2-3 switches (changeover/intermediate) that operate a relay for the actual lights to keep volt drop down. As it has CCTV it would be handy to be able to operate the lights remotely as well. Had it been planned that way in any detail, I'm sure it would be better done differently, but for now I was thinking of using a toggling relay such as this:
To change the lights just like another switch would, my next plan was to use a Raspberry Pi or similar to allow a remote toggle of the state by pulsing the coil for 0.5s or so. My reason for looking at a mechanically latched relay is more so if the computer controlling things is rebooted, etc, it does not default to leaving all lights on in summer, etc. However, there might be a far better/easier way to do this, suggestions folks?
