Its just the advocates view. Agree many myths are just silly, like brakes and tyres but to say the grid can cope is a little naive, they may well build a power station or two or add a few hundred windfarms but that does nothing for local connections at 400/230V... Local DNOs do appear to be struggling.
As for public charging, well as of today, i have checked out my route from Derbyshire to Holyhead and i will need to charge around Chester way.... made two trips in the Diesel and at present if i make the journey in the Leaf, its 50/50 whether i will make it - They are building a large charging station at Chester services but still looks months away from being ready.
