happy Monday evening chaps!

haven't got my regs handy so for quoting purpose I tried using the tlc calculator but it says 'no suitable cable found'

run is apparently 100m -going my customers email -quoting on thurs
load is: (as per customer)
PC with 4 screens
Sonos One speaker
2 x LED ceiling lights
1 x LED security light
1 x Gree home air conditioner/dehumidifier/heater 5Kw
1 x Kettle

swa to be cleated rather than buried

so using Voltage Drop Calculator | TLC Electrical - https://www.tlc-direct.co.uk/Technical/Charts/VoltageDrop.html
I allowed for 8kw- with lighting circuit @ 100m and says 'no suitable cable found'

obviously will check my book when I can but if any of you have any quick comebacks

would have thought 10mm 3core at 100m may be a push!
so poss 16mm

not sure if tns or tncs yet- will find out thurs

If you want to keep below the 3% VD for lighting, you'll have to go up to 25mm².

What software is that lee?

Plus, of course, the cable will only be running at a small proportion of its rated current, so its temperature will be below rated, so the conductor resistance and therefore volt drop will be lower than shown by the usual simple calc.

Hi - that is spooky cool Lee. Looking at it, it seems to show that if it's TNS up near the top end then 40A MCB may have to be derated? (run it again run it again :) )

Lee

Do you rate this software - been thinking about buying something for a while now and at £19.99 it seems OK!

Your thoughts?

Thanks
