Hi, I'm an experienced electrician that has only worked in heavy industry having done my apprenticeship in the steel works, many years ago.
More recently I've spent 10 years commissioning and installing machines with Omron, Allen Bradley, Siemens PLC and IDEC. More recently I've been working with Mitsubishi and their range of Factory Automation (PLC's, HMI's and Inverter drives).
I now find myself working with the Unitronics combined PLC's and HMI's for the last 5 years and always feel disappointed at how few people seem to be aware of their great range. I guess as engineers we don't like to try something new a conservative bunch!
So I have years of experience and now want to keep in touch with my core trade and share some of my knowledge that has been built up during the development of factory automation and PLCs and HMI's.

Welcome to the forum, I have used PLC's since 1979, started off on the original Modicons (284?) and Allen Bradley 1 when you had to have a seperate panel to house the huge PLC & I/O racks

I've used a few of the Cutouch combined PLC/HMI in the last few years.
