Well, I was told I should post something here. Not being one to ignore polite requests, here I am.

I worked in IT for a number of years before the rates went down the pan, mainly on support, rollouts and comms (read pulling cables and trying not to make a mess plugging them all in). I've now got a shop in a small Cornish village but want to get back into something I need to think about. I thought about plumbing then thought again. I thought about getting back into IT and using my quals there then thought again. I've now signed up for an electrician training course, it's at the same centre a mate of mine down here used so comes well recommended. So, here's to the long slog of learning for the exams and the longer slog of refining the trade.

Hopefully I'll be posting a bit in the not so distant future.

All the very best,
Steve.

Hello Steve_P, welcome aboard www.electriciansforums.net. Stick around, I'm sure you'll like the place. :)

Thanks for all the replies people. Seems like quite a relaxed sort of forum. Just need to get time to read a bit more stuff now. Won't have much of that soon, got a new bathroom turning up next week and about 7kg of training manuals too! Still, the training stuff should prompt a few stupid questions.
