Have any of you studied, or studying, the HNC Engineering Systems? Im looking for some feedback. I have SVQ level 3, and over 10 years experience on the tools and feel that at 28 its time to further my career whilst i am still in a position to do so (no dependants, mortgage ect)

I like the look of the HNC Engineering systems as it looks like a good starting point, i would hope to continue onto the HND which would then allow me to enter the final year of a degree in one of the following subjects, electrical, electronic, mechanical, or a combination of 2 of them.

I have looked at distance learning but think i would prefer to do it full time. Anyone else gone down this route? and how did you find going back to full time education?

Cheers, Steve

I studied for an HNC in Software Engineering at the age of 34. Two year course condenced into one, full time. Best year of my life.

I'm half way through HNC power systems engineering..and it's solid (not to mention extremely time consuming). It's all maths, which I struggle with anyway. That said, if you are prepared to take it seriously and put in the hours then go for it! I do mine as day release.
