Was asked to check out why RCDs took so long to trip after a lunatic cut power cords off med stuff and was dipping them in urine,30mA devices surely 10 or below no<

One day I’ll learn to look who the OP is before opening a post.

i was actually disappointed on how normal & sensible the thread was compared to his previous madcap.

;-)

anywho , thinking on , i'd say how could anyone possibly notice if a rcd was "slow" ?
stopwatch lol ?

edit : and im surprised the rcds are as high as 30ma in any medical location , 10ma would be a better bet.

simple.... non-conductive urine.

My daughter is a Psychologist and just needs a few more posts to make her final assessment so try and keep the thread going.

Certain circuits in hospitals may be supplied via an isolating transformer and may alarm in the case of leakage rather than disconnect.

That said, whatever the circuit, cutting a live power cord would inevitably trip an over current device.

I also gave him a 'thanks' just for being such a crowd-pleaser :)

Is that aimed at any particular forum member?!?!
I thought He meant a surgical mask with the hospital scenario, who knows? It's the "frequency droop" that's playing on my mind?
