Hot water tank timer help

Have been asked to fit a timer to a hot water tank this is something I have not done before. And was wondering if a Horstmann centaurolus c27 unit will do this

No,havent checked but CH programmers have low contact ratings,usually 3-6a....you need a timer with at least a 13a rating.

Edit...the above has 3a contacts so no good for an immersion,you need something like this....

I would agree with wirepuller & recommend timeguard immersion timers. I would however suggest spending the extra 10 quid & go for the electronic (digital) timeclock - I've used the analogue ones for years in my pump control panels & over the last 6 months the quality & reliability has gone to pot.

Hi geordie, The Horstmann electric water heating controllers are in my experience more reliable than the Smiths Timeguard units. You have a choice of 5 Horstmann models depending on whether there is an off-peak supply, radio-code change-over switch or economy 7 tariff. See the link below for further information.
