Hello guys,

I have not had anyone come around to give me a quote but I just want to see what the ball park figure would be to do some work for me.

Basically I am having a loft conversion and i need the working doing in stages. I currently have an old fuse board/mcb which i would like replacing and new wiring fed up to the loft for the switches and sockets.
Layout Ground floor.
Kitchen and Pantry with downstairs WC
2 additional rooms that are are dining room and a lounge.

First Floor
4 bed rooms and a bathroom with a shower.

Loft Floor
3 Bedrooms and a Bathroom with a shower.

I also need a fire alarm that works in together eg in zones, all works need to be certified and done to a high standard. I need the existing wiring tested and a certificate at the end.

If any local electricians want a look at the job I am in Wakefield / Message me.
Thanks

Not many electricians will give even ballpark prices on the open forum..... to be honest it sounds like a job that needs to be looked at for an accurate quote anyway.
It's a bit far out of my usual area but if you can't get anyone else interested I would come and quote for you. Best advice is get at least three quotes and don't go for the cheapest. Go for the one you click with and has a good air of professionalism. You need to get a good feeling with a tradesman. That said, I usually charge extra for a good feeling, depending on the customer of course ..... :D

I know its difficult, hence why I am open for local installers who can do the job for me. I could go to the yellow pages but I thought i would try here first. :)

Have you tried asking your friends and neighbours for a personal recommendation?

Just be aware that a fuseboard change may require additional work being done and is also notifiable under Part P of the building regs.

I'd also make sure anyone providing quotes confirms that they wil be providing an Electricial Installation Certificate for the board change and new circuits installed.

A large number of people will claim to be registered - ask them for their scheme name and number....I include this information on all quotes I do.

Good luck

i passed him your number this morning. he's a top man and won't rip you off.
