Hello everyone,

Electrician with background in commercial installation, also done some domestic and industrial.

Qualifications include City & Guilds 2394/5, CompEX 01-04.

Don't have as much experience in Inspection & Testing as I would so far in my working life and largely why I've joined the forum to look for advice.

Also considering doing HNC Electrical Engineering part-time at college to further qualifications but unsure if it's worthwhile at 28 years old.

Chris

Welcome along.
If you have the capability within your work, life and budget to do more (relevant) qualifications why not do so, it generally will not harm.

Hi Chris,
Its never a bad thing to get qualifications if you can afford them and find the time to do them.
Once you have them, they can't be taken away and you might be surprised how handy they can be in the future!

Hi, just MO if you want to stay on the tools why bother.? If after job in planning/design etc, then yeah go for it.

Thanks guys,

Some of the threads on the forum look interesting with some good debate and advice.

Just keeping my options open with the HNC, in all honesty I wish I had done it years ago.

I'm also considering doing my own personal jobs at weekends carrying out board changeovers, EIC's, EICR's & Portable Appliance Testing, can anyone point me in the right direction for that thread?

Chris
