i have an old house (just got it). 1897. it has all knob and tube in the attic and a mish mash of lay out for what breakers do what. the first floor and basement are mostly all more modern wiring.
question is: i want to run all new 12/2 wiring to each room. put each room on its own breaker in the basement. i have a central wet wall. in MN would i be able to run conduit (cpvc i suppose) down the wet wall, use some kind of strain relief radius in the attic, and drop new lines to the basement this way?
i have 4 rooms plus a hall upstairs - two rooms have no outlets right now. so my thought was to drop from the attic, down the plaster/lath walls to add lights in each closet and rewire each outlet. then dedicate a 20A breaker for each room in the new panel i plan to add in the basement.

my understanding is ill need to run 2x4 on either side of all wiring runs in the attic per current code. the attic is not finished, has no stairs, and is filled with 2 feet of celulite insulation.

the basement/first floor i can access from below so i think that will be easy to run new wiring.
