hi
Recently refurbished bathroom and fitted a spare metal down light which is close to shower, total novice at electrics but fitted wires exactly as previous light. Now whenever I have shower and touch light fitting it's got current through it? Do I need a particular type of light fitting? I have checked that I haven't screwed through any wires .

Thanks in advance I have an old house no earths.

the only thing you need is an electrician whilst you are still alive. i cover cheshire and willing to sort it for you.

Take up the offer sounds like you have some urgent issues which need attention.

Last time I saw something like this was when a shower cubicle was at 230v when the lights were switched on.

The old lady was lucky to be alive

The muppet installer had caught the switched live when he fixed the shower screen in place!

I am curious, why did you touch the light fitting whilst having a shower.

no.it's probably due to the fact that you don't have adequate earthing. i can't stress enough how dangerous this is. fatalities have been known in similar situations.
