Oil Heating Electrical Socket Box - Quick Question

Hi Guys,

I have just ran an extension cable from the Oil Heating Burner box/shed electrical socket to my shed. The cable is only for a light, as initially i thought i was on a winner. Simple as running a lead in and bingo! Seems not to be the case.

I have ran the cable in to find a problem. The electric only seems to come on when you click the oil heating timer on in the house. So with taking the oil burner plugs out in the burner box and putting only my plug for the light in to test, the result is, it only comes on for about two minutes and cuts off.

The oil heating boiler box/shed is right next to my shed. The wire running between the two has been covered by conduit.

Would anybody have an idea what my problem is? Will be most grateful for any feedback at this time.

Anybody have an idea why this socket knocks power off after two minutes being on?

As i have to hit the oil heating timer/clock in the house on, to get power to the plug socket outside in the boiler house.

Really hope someone has an idea.

Perhaps your socket is wired through the output of your time control. Must have been originally for a pump.

Your profile says your interested in Kickboxing. You ever train Muay Thai with Frank McConville in Belfast? I am from Belfast also

If its wired up for a pump as you say, will this be a problem then for me. Will i need a new line to accommodate my shed lighting?

You could possibly fit a fcu at your time clock, disconnect cable to socket from time clock and move into fcu.

As for the kickboxing, i have done some muay thai train at prokick with billy murray when i'm at home.
