power shower wiring for client

my client has just purchased a 8 kw power shower, i have watched a youtube video on how to run the pipe work so i think i have that figured out, but i assume i can run a cable from the pull cord next to the door switch to power it up?

Is the cable suitable for the load (bearing on mind how it is run, length etc)?

Is there RCD protection present for that circuit?

Do you have an MFT to do the necessary testing?

I'm a little concerned that a client is being charged (one assumes) for a service by someone who's apparent knowledge seems to be entirely gleaned off the internet.

8 kw is over 34amps, do you know what size cable is supplying the door switch, is the door switch for lights? fan? Certainly not for a power shower and in all probability is under specified for that use, get an electrician in.

i decided to run the cable from the downlight as it was closer but if i don't have the lights on the shower doesn't work, but when do you shower in the dark, thanks for you replies anyway

Quite right, it’s dangerous to run a showere from a downright.
plug it in to the shaver socket by the basin instead.
