yet another new installation ruined in less than 5 years due to terrible workmanship,
-not a single drainage hole in 24 lights,
-about 8 of them full to the brim with water as half of the lids werent even secure making the ip67 rating ip-zero
-insulation stripped all the way to the copper on the braided flex where it enters the gland, on more than 30 glands at least, causing the cable to overheat further under the ground and ruining the gubbins of the light
-the lids that did have screws were all rounded off!
-vast amount of them not even flush with the ground
-no earths connected at any of the lights
the previous electrician that visited obviously didnt bother to open up any of the lights , or if he did he had the wrong size bit for the lid screws, he told the property management that the lights would only work with a full rewire, ive managed to get the whole lot going again with some led tape and some drivers, a few holes in the bottoms of the fittings, new screws for the lids, braided flex stripped back and re-terminated properly, no more fault!
re-buried them aswell so that they are actually recessed lights and not some sort of ornament on the stones.
who employs the type of guy who did this original install? ive saved the property management thousands and im sure ive put the other chancer out of getting more work from them or even asked to give a quote
sunburnt, and lots of ants nests in the "bucket" that holds the fittings in the ground, interesting watching all the ants scurry about moving what i assume are baby ant eggs, if only humans were as efficient as ants, they moved what must have been over 1000 eggs in a matter of minutes
