Hello all,

I have just been speaking with one of my suppliers and i have been told that the Sharp NU-R250(J5) modules are being discontinued in favor of the Sharp ND 250 Poly modules. I have noticed that they both have the same efficiency but the polys are cheaper, is this the reason why they are being discontinued? Some more information would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ryan.

P.S. Let the mad rush start again

Hi Synergy - This is a quote from our Sharp representative:

"I can also confirm that after this month (jan) we will no longer produce mono modules. A few NUR245J5s will be available this month."

I believe as poly efficiencies are climbing and with poly panels being much cheaper to produce, Sharp has taken the decision to only produce poly. Their prices are much more competitive as a result, and puts them right back in the frame v's the cheaper but quality Chinese brands

Anything to do with being able to sell a cheaper panel on the 21p rate?

Exactly! Other name brands have effectively priced themselves out of the market as it stands at the moment, Sharp have responded with aggressive price cuts, which is what almost every installer is asking for at the moment.
