All XLPE.
3 x 6mm Doncaster is 14.9mm o.d
3 x 6mm Eland and Batt are 16.6mm o.d
3x 6mm Cleveland is 15.14 o.d

3 x 10mm is around 19mm

There's nothing close enough in 3 core for it to not be 6mm
Basec Electrical Cable 600/1000V, BS 5467 ATOM 3 x 6mm

The writing is so small that you can barely read it.
The best way is to run you r finger tips and feel the indents of the label and you will need a light to flash onto the cable where I saw the number/sizing.

Swa I use has size and number of cores stamped on external insulation, along with bs number and voltage rating.
3x6, in your case.

What make is the cable?

Time to get your micrometer out then? Strange but a few young people I have shown this have never heard of it on their course. I would have thought that was basic skills.

Thanks Vortigem,
That's how I calculated the cable diameter with the use of a digital Veneer scale

@Kibo_769 if you mean vernier gauge, not the same thing or as accurate. From what you said I judged that you measured the whole set of seven cables together whereas you would only measure one and multiply by 7 the resultant calculation of the first of the 7?

I tried each strand and the complete diameter using the vernier gauge - but wasnt sure at the time - thanks again

Certainly looks like 6mm XLPE. Try a 6mm black bootlace on the conductors.......

Recently received some Turkish 4C 1.5mm XLPE SWA, needless to say it got a good once over before the delivery driver got my 'signature' on his delivery docket!!

I'll not name names lol! There is three letters in the name, but not C, E or F.

First letter is K....

I've no problems with where the cable is made, as long as it is up to the job.

Turkey have a market now for recycling old rigs and ships, so guess there is plenty of copper around.

Yeah, force of habit checking deliveries now. Received some 5 Pair screened, turned out to be non-armoured! Not amused when discovered as it had all been clipped in!
