I am just curious, can Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) be used to power high-powered appliances such as washing machines, dryers, etc.? If not, I would appreciate it if you could explain why is that.
Yes, you could do it if there was a very good reason.
No, you would not do it in practice as the cost if far too high (both in terms of hardware and power losses) compared to a cable, where the initial cost is low, and the lost power is generally very low as well.
