HI,
I'm thinking to become an electrician.I want to take a course online with practical training over the weekends because I work a full time job.
I've seen a course Domestic electrical installer that qualifies you in:
PART P defined scope
Part P Full scope
C&G 2382- 17th Edition
C&G 2392
C&G 2365 level 2 diploma :
Unit 201/501
Unit 202
Unit 203
Unit 204
Unit 210

My question is, with this course how far will I be from becoming a fully qualified electrician.

Thank you for your time :)

That wont make you an Electrician, you will become a domestic installer, they are two very different things...

I know that.I've asked how far will I be from becoming one.and if you know what and where can I work with a domestic installer qualification

about 4 years of graft and then at lest 2 more years of on the job experience then your a newly qualified electrician. Add 10 more years and you will become a normal electrician, further 10 you are a Jedi Electrician or old boy for short.

I was hoping for a more concise response.I wanted to know what courses will I have to do..thank you

If you want to become an electrician then I suggest you to find the technical courses for this purpose.

3 years ago - he's probably up and running with his own business now!

I know that maybe now he's probably running with his own business! But maybe he didn't find the power to start new career. In that case I want to recommend him to get an electronics degree.

My brother is an electrician and he has found plenty of work in power companies and also he always receive a lot of orders from private houses. Try to look into these power companies to see if they have an apprenticeship program or there are also many electrician programs online (for example this one electricianclasses.com).

An electronics degree is an excellent thing to have, but would not be very useful for someone wanting to train as an electrician.
