I have been working underneath a fellow electricians umbrella until recently, but never really paid much attention to the testing side of things,(i have since done the 2392 course) I am now on my own and recently fitted a new consumer unit for a customer and i am wondering what is required on the testing front to certify this, e.g what certificate do you give, and do you normally do a full test or will just a fuseboard test be sufficient as that is the only part of the installation you changed ? Thanks.

you need a EIC as its a new installation all circuits need to be tested in full!!

When you complete your EIC you have to state the scope of what its "for" and for a CU change you do have to test all circuits in full, and don't forget its notifiable.
