Hi I was after abit of advice on courses to further my career and meet the criteria on job searches. Im currently self employed with no work on and agencies want 2391 or equivalent. I've looked into 2394-2395 and no these are a must. Is there any courses in panel wiring, conveyer belt systems or maintenance on machinery

When i was doing my 2330, there was another lad on the course who was following a completley different criteria because he was doing maintenace/machinery work.

So im guessing there is other qualifications out there to be had - someone who's in the know on the forum will advise. If not, you'll just have to ring the local Technical College and enquire.

i'd probably look at getting pasma & ipaf licences , plenty of commercial / building site work out there for blokes with both.

Hi thanks for the reply, I finished my apprenticeship 6 years ago and was lucky enough to work at a small firm for most of my career. I should have got further qualifications in that time, but when your breads buttered you think your sorted for life. I got layed off due to work shortages and then you realise your just another spark on paper. We always had a designated tester so where only taught the basics in testing. Had pasma, ipaf, ukatta and first aid and didn't really help on CV. All the jobs advertised want 2391 approved sparks and want to pay peanuts.
