I like the array of lump hammers, its like the 3 bears. Did you have to use all 3? I'm half expecting Goldilocks to show up now :D

I'm too follicley challenged to be goldilocks anymore ... I got the first rod in with littlen but I did need the whole family of persuaders for the second rod.

Apparently an SDS drill can put them in effortlessly. Only time I've done one I went old fashioned muscle approach though so can't say first hand.

Well done with the earth rod but I'm a little concerned regards the tea, please tell me that it wasn't left in that half consumed state, there's nothing more amateurish than a spark who struggles with his brew
I am pleased to confirm that no tea was wasted during the installation:)

tea is a waste of hot water. imagine your insides being the same as the inside of a well-used kettle.\YUK. coffee and beer are the only drinks suited to mankind. ( wine is acceptable, as Jesus himself turned fish piddle pools into wine some 2000 years ago )

You know what, I'd love to do actual decorative masonry as a profession. It's a trade much in demand and the job satisfaction must be immense.

Only thing is, it looks bloody difficult, and a lot of work at heights that would see me sweating and palpitating myself into a right state.

I agree,a noble profession indeed. I showed an interest at 15,to my friends grandfather,a stonemason, and ex WW2 sapper - proper character.

He set me about, cutting a coal-hole lid hole, with recess,in 4" yorkshire stone... apparently a standard apprentice task, back in the day. A full day of graft,in the summer holidays...Didn't fare bad,but he said it must not rattle, when trod on,and that,is hard.

Or a big digger :) I pushed one in not long back using the back of the bucket of the digger we were using to dig out the footings of a large extension on a barn conversion.
Ooh... I love getting my hands on a powerful bit of kit :)

I'm definitely in the water table with a Council balancing pond at the roadside (full) and a pond in the paddock to rear (full).
The sign is just my cheeky edit, but I am tempted to write in to IET for consideration in 18th ed, as the existing don't seem to be effective :)

Hello All - here's this week's ode to yesteryear. Two 1200 mm rods went in at a barn and it's another victory for the sledgehammer at less than 6 Ohms :)
