Everything blown. Quite a distance away from me don't know whether to do the job????

Old wylex rewirable....

What you guys think? Blown the main fuse? I dread to think how they have wired it in....Apparently all they did was disconnect cooker as worktops needed to go in and re-connected it and boom everything is out!

I fit £60,000 pound + kitchens for a bespoke company in leicestershire 4 years apprenticeship carpentry and joinery, 3 years electrician city and guilds 17th edition, I like to think I do the electrics the right way, you guys are very talented and I enjoy the wealth of knowledge on this site but you do love to slate other trades, and with all my qualifications I still class myself as a kitchen fitter/joiner because it is the better trade :)

I did/do a bit of labouring for a kitchen fitter.
I will admit he does like to put sockets in wierd and wonderfull places but i cant see any 1 taking the power out screwing a worktop down.
But he/we do go around fixing every 1 elses boo boo's
And there the Orange shed approved guys lol

4 years apprenticeship to be shown how to put a bit of flat pack together.....better trade my arse.

Does the apprenticeship show you how to put the handles on level? Cos if so, I've never worked with a kitchen fitter who had an apprenticeship lol.

Hope the punter in the original post realises that tomorrow the call out charge will double, on account of it being a bank holiday weekend and all.......

not so much slating other trades as slating other trades who try and do electrics badly or by accident or design, bugger up our work ( blowtorching cables, filling back boxes with plaster, nailing through cables etc. )

personally, i wouldn't like to take responsibility for cutting holes in a £1000 granite worktop.LOL.

i did work for a millionaire!! he was the most down to earth chap ever and he told me that A) all elec work was mine regardless of price B) do i know a good reliable plumber..!!

he then went on to say that he considers all other trades a waste of space (bloke is a ex sculpter / carpenter) and that unless it could kill you then it was not rocket science!

This was a light hearted remark Gravid, never put a flat pack together ,talking hand made bespoke mate ,lot of skill required, HAVE ALOT OF REPECT FOR BOTH TRADES so should you,
electrians are not gods

To stop this thread hitting 100 pages.
I get the feeling sparkys hate kitchen fitters.
and if your a kitchen fitter with a electrical qualification! DONT GO THERE!!!!!!

I love electrians and would like to sit there having a pint with all of you ,revelling in your knowledge and experiences, but please, you could also learn alot from other trades persons so dont judge everyone the same, there are good and bad in all trades even yours believe it or not ( DONT HATE KITCHEN FITTERS)

the whole point is that electricians deal with electrics. we don't fit kitchens or plumb in bathrooms, so why the hell do plumbers and kitchen fitters take work from us?

I want your job focus, cos i know if your fitting/wiring 60k kitchens your on the proper cash.
Jealously is a ugly emotion and I'm jealous :(
Iv done/am doing the orange shed stuff and the money is a joke.
