The Cancellation of Contracts made in a Consumer’s Home or Place of Work etc. Regulations 2008

After reading up on this - we are supposed to get contracts signed for all work over £35 then give 7 days to ' cool off '
or get the customer to sign a waiver if starting straight away.

My questions - Do you guys do this ? And what do you do for an emergency call out ?

As the above regs say the customer does not have to pay if they're not followed.

Cheers

The waiver makes a mockery of the whole thing....................what if the customer later claims to have been pressurised into signing the waiver?? Another farce imposed onto us!!

Never bothered, that said most of my estimates go by email and are acknowledged by the clients when confirming dates so I suppose its covered.

I seem to remember when I worked for ntl one of the terms and conditions was something along the lines of:
'By agreeing to have the service installed you are agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions of contract.'
