I am taking my AM2 in 8 weeks and have some questions that I was hoping you guys could answer for me?
1. Does the pre-installed metal containment require earthing?
2. When wiring the RFC do you follow the specification (with a long leg from the final socket-outlet back to the board or can you wire it so that that you keep the cable runs relatively equal?
3. Do you need to sleeve/identify the numbered cores on the SY cable for the motor circuit?
4. If the external socket-outlet is to be fed from the FCU, do you connect it to the load side (protected by the 13A fuse)?
5. What exactly is a bridging section when installing Cat5 cable in multi-compartment PVC trunking as I have not seen one before?
6. Is it okay to ask the assessor for the DNO Ze value or are you expected to measure it?
7. Is the luminaire usually a 2D 28w?

You need to follow the specification, just like the real world, failing to follow the specification will result in lost marks.
You also need to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the wiring regulations, some of the questions you ask suggest that maybe your knowledge isn't quite enough to be taking this exam just yet.

5. A bridging section is a piece of plastic fitted in to the LV compartment to allow ELV cables to pass through it without coming in to contact with the LV cables.
6. You measure it.
7. Don't know, but the type of light fitting shouldn't have any bearing on your install.

The spec apparently shows 2x main equipotential bonding conductors to the gas and water services, however, you ARE allowed to run one continuous 10mm2 length instead. This is not following the spec but IS allowed.
With regards to the luminaire, the reason I ask is because of the maximum demand/diversity calculation. ie If it was a discharge fitting then I would have to apply 1.8

I agree with it being easy, but I didn't find any part of it stressful.

I dont like that, if a contractor ignored the spec like that on a job without written permission I'd make them redo it at their own cost.

It’s stressful when there’s a lot riding on it. The people I’ve spoken to about it who failed definitely was overthinking it.
