Cut through an alarm cable

Don't know where it goes to (magnetic contact we think) but the Customer is happy to have that cable disabled. There are four wires - do I simply wrap all four together so the rest of the alarm can be switched on ?

why not join the cable, otherwise they may need to omitt the zone every time alarm is set

You will need to identify what cores are used for the alarm and tamper circuits then join each of the cores together for the alarm and tamper circuits joining all four together will cause a fault which will stop the alarm arming. You could get an alarm JB and reconnect it would save time identifying what the cable does
If the magnetic contact is on the exit door the system may not set if it is programmed for final exit set and the door contact has been removed from the system

join the cables, colour for colour, if there is insufficient slack, the use 2 alarm JBs. If the alarm won't work, you'll be blamed.

Thanks. I tried a few different combination's and eventually figured out to wrap the blue and yellow together and the red and black together. Jobs a good un'
